Dr. Neumann is an Associate Professor at Indiana University (IU) School of Medicine in the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, and Research Director at the Rehabilitation Hospital of Indiana (RHI). She is also the Director of the IU Interactive and Functional Assessment of Communication and Emotion (InterFACE) Center at RHI. She has her PhD in Rehabilitation Science from SUNY Buffalo, and MA in Cognitive Psychology from Rutgers NJ. Dr. Neumann’s research aims to identify mechanisms underlying social cognition and emotion regulation deficits after traumatic brain injury (TBI), as well as to determine evidence-based treatment approaches for these problems. She was the recipient of the American Congress of Rehabilitation Medicine (ACRM) Deborah L. Wilkerson Early Career Award in 2013 and the Mitchell Rosenthal Mid-Career Award in 2018 for the significant contributions she has made to the field of Rehabilitation. Dr. Neumann serves on the Journal of Head Trauma Rehabilitation editorial review board.
